An assessment is made according to the applicant's
financial situation. Quarterly meetings are held and the Executive
Committee makes the final decision on their suitability for an annuity.
When an annuity has been guaranteed it is sent direct to the individual
and not to any agency. Annuity payments are made twice yearly in
July and December. In December a Christmas bonus is paid. Recipients
are required to acknowledge payments by sending a receipt to the
office and to inform the Secretary if their financial situation
has improved. In certain circumstances, a one-off grant may be sanctioned
by the Executive Committee.
The charities exist to help nurses in sickness or straitened circumstances in the United Kingdom and abroad, therefore grants are not available for further education. |
